DUNGEONS

The Drowned City

Ancient troll ruins risen off the Stranglethorn Vale coast; playable at BlizzCon.

Levels 35-40 · Phase Nov 4 2026

Lore

Sunken troll ruins have suddenly risen out of the ocean off Stranglethorn's coast and can be seen from shore. Trolls and naga have been spotted, and a pirate ship has crashed into them. Nobody knows why the city rose from the sea: that question is answered inside.

What we know

  • It was the first new dungeon playable at BlizzCon.
  • The opening areas feel like a variation on Zul'Farrak, but it gets twistier, with fully underwater corridors (press).
  • A huge central courtyard has a shark in a pool that chewed up the press group (press).
  • Classic-style tough fights: not mechanically hard, but demanding mana and threat management; Kotaku's group only downed 1 boss in the time allowed (press).
  • Blizzard re-examined every dungeon drop: unique boss items are now blue, and some bosses drop advanced camping Blueprints.

Bosses

Blizzard hasn't published the bosses yet. We'll add them as soon as they're known (the beta starts on September 17).
